01Fences for dogs
A yard your dog can run in, and can't get out of.
Pick your dog and we'll suggest a height and material. At the visit we check the gates and the ground along the line.

What does your dog need?
5 ft fence
Medium dogs do best with 5 ft.
03Height guide
Height matters most.
- Small dogs. Kept close to the ground so they can't squeeze under.
- 4 ft
- Medium dogs. Tall enough that most won't try.
- 5 ft
- Big dogs and jumpers. Solid vinyl also blocks the view.
- 6 ft
- Diggers. Wire dig guard pinned along the line.

04Materials
Solid or see-through?
If your dog barks at people and other dogs walking by, a solid privacy fence often calms things down. If not, chain link keeps your view open and costs less.
05Questions
Dog fence questions
How tall should a dog fence be?
Most small dogs stay in behind 4 ft. Medium dogs do best with 5 ft, and big dogs or jumpers with 6 ft. We'll ask about your dog at the visit.

What about gates?
Gates are where most escapes happen. We set gates with a small gap at the bottom, and self-closing hardware is worth asking about.
My dog digs. What can you do?
We keep the bottom of the fence close to the ground and can pin a wire dig guard along the line.
