Heights

In residential areas, up to 6 ft in side and back yards. In front yards, see-through fences like chain link up to 4 ft, and solid privacy fences only 2½ ft.

Corner lots

Nothing that blocks the view between 2½ and 10 ft high inside the triangle 30 ft from the corner.

Double frontage lots

The back of the lot can be fenced like any standard lot, as long as the corner rules are met.

Permit

The city's development code doesn't list a separate fence permit. We confirm with the city for your address before we build.

Utilities

Iowa One Call (811) before anything goes into the ground, even our driven steel posts. We file it. Sprinkler and pet-fence lines are yours to mark.

HOAs

Check your HOA's rules too. Send them to us and we'll match them.
